To make your experience as enjoyable as possible, we politely ask that you read the following information in advance of your visit:

On the day of your booking

On arrival, please enter either the Pro Shop or our historic Clubhouse where one of our team will be happy to assist you.

We understand that every golfer does not play to the same standard or at the same speed however we generally expect a fourball to complete 18 holes in 4-4.5hrs. Most importantly, please do not hold up players behind and allow faster groups to play through if they are waiting and you have space ahead of you.  Please replace divots, repair pitch marks and rake bunkers.

Dress Code & Mobile Device Policy

• On the Course: Conventional golfing attire including golf shoes are required. Shirts should be tucked in at all times. Tailored shorts are permitted on the links but should be worn with either knee length or white ankle socks.
• In the Clubhouse – golfing attire is permitted throughout the Clubhouse, however shorts, golf shoes, hats and outerwear are not permitted upstairs. Please note we do not have a spike bar.
• Jeans, trainers, tracksuits and round neck t-shirts are prohibited on the course and in the Clubhouse.
• The use of mobile phones and other digital devices is prohibited within the Clubhouse with the following exceptions:
  • Devices may be used silently in the snooker room but calls may not be made or taken.
  • Calls may be made or taken in the locker rooms or in the telephone booth (situated in the main entrance hall).
• Device use is permitted in outdoor areas but calls may not be made or taken on the golf course or practice areas except in an emergency.

Playing information

Player handicaps should be no higher than 24 for men, and 30 for ladies. Handicap Certificates may be requested. All visitors, irrespective of ability, will play from the green or orange tee markers.

Caddies & Equipment Hire

Caddies, club hire and trolleys are all available by prior arrangement.  A small number of buggies are also available, but use is restricted to players with a verified medical need.

You are welcome to make use of our practice facilities. Complimentary range ball tokens are available from the Pro Shop.

Clubhouse Catering

Our bar menu is available daily between 10am and 6.00pm (5.00pm in winter), a drinks service is available until the bar closes (times vary).

For larger groups of 12 or more wishing to dine with us we encourage pre-bookings to be made with our Catering team – email:  catering@royallytham.org.  We also have a well-stocked Halfway House on the golf course serving hot and cold beverages and snacks.
