Royal Birkdale Golf Club
Royal Birkdale is one of the finest links courses in world golf and a natural centrepiece for the Royal Flush. Located in Southport, it is known for its magnificent dune corridors, championship history and outstanding visitor experience. With The Open returning in 2026, Royal Birkdale remains one of the most sought-after courses on England’s Golf Coast.
Royal Liverpool Golf Club
Royal Liverpool, at Hoylake, is one of the most historic clubs in British golf. It has hosted The Open Championship many times ( most recently in 2023) and is known for its firm-running links, exposed coastal setting and deep connection to the development of the game. It brings a different style of challenge to the Royal Flush and works especially well for groups staying in Liverpool or travelling across the Wirral.
Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club
Royal Lytham & St Annes is one of the most strategic links courses in championship golf. Famous for its bunkering, demanding approach shots and rich Open Championship history, it provides a different test from both Royal Birkdale and Royal Liverpool. It is a superb final piece of the Royal Flush, adding variety, difficulty and heritage to the itinerary. The Open will be held at Royal Lytham in 2028
Suggested Royal Flush Package Itinerary
A typical Royal Flush itinerary includes three rounds of golf and two nights’ accommodation. The exact order of play will depend on tee time availability, travel plans and the best route for your group.
A simple version could include arrival and accommodation in Southport or Liverpool, followed by rounds at Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool and Royal Lytham & St Annes over the course of the trip. Some groups prefer to arrive the day before the first round, while others add extra nights to make the itinerary more relaxed.
The Royal Flush can also be extended to include additional courses on England’s Golf Coast, extra time in Liverpool or Southport, or a two-centre trip that includes premium golf around London before travelling north.

The best location will depend on your wider itinerary, the courses you add, your preferred evening base and how much travelling you want between rounds.
Travel, Transfers and Local Logistics
The Royal Flush requires careful planning because the three Royal courses sit across different parts of England’s Golf Coast. The distances are manageable, but the order of play, accommodation base and transport arrangements all make a difference to the flow of the trip.
Groups can travel by car, taxi, private transfer, chauffeur vehicle or minibus. When planning the itinerary, it is important to consider not only golfer transfers, but also the movement of golf clubs and luggage between airports, hotels and courses.
For overseas visitors, Manchester Airport is often the most practical arrival point for long-haul international flights, while Liverpool Airport can be useful for many European routes.
